Winter and seasonal stays
Snowbird RV rental in Gulf Shores: 4 parks set a maximum age for the camper, and one of them has no appeal
We read the long-stay terms off 10 campgrounds near Gulf Shores on September 17, 2026. Four of them publish a rule about how old the RV may be, and it applies to a monthly stay rather than a weekend. The camper is ours, so that rule decides which of our 17 campers can sit on the site you booked.
The rule that decides your winter
Pensacola RV Park states that for an extended stay it does not accept RVs or trailers older than 10 years. It publishes no way around that. Three other parks set a limit of the same kind and publish a way around it: management will consider an older RV once it has seen a photograph. Fort Morgan RV Park draws its line at 15 years and adds RVIA certification. So a winter RV rental has a second gate on it, and the gate is on the trailer rather than on you.
Read that against the fleet. For the 2026 to 2027 season, 16 of our 17 campers sit inside a 10-year limit. One is on the line, the 2016 CrossRoads RV Sunset Trail ST289QB. Every other camper we rent is a 2018 model or newer, which is why the rule is worth knowing rather than worth worrying about.
What it costs to get this wrong
The deposit goes down before anyone looks at the trailer. Pensacola RV Park takes $100 and states that any cancellation of a monthly reservation forfeits all of it, with no refund for leaving early. Sugar Sands takes $500 and returns nothing inside 30 days. Pensacola Beach RV Resort takes $250 per month, non-refundable. Book the site, pay the deposit, then find the camper is the wrong model year, and the money has already gone.
So do it in this order. Ask the park what it allows, tell us the park, and we will send a camper that clears its rule. Name the park in your enquiry and this takes one message instead of three. Get a quote.
What 10 parks publish about a monthly stay
Read off each park’s own site on September 17, 2026, with our delivery fee for that town beside it. 15 of the 25 parks we deliver to publish nothing about long stays at all. Site rent is the park’s, not ours, and parks change it without notice, so confirm it with them before you count on it.

| Santa Rosa RV Resort Navarre Beach Florida | November through March | Not published | Not published | No, by phone or enquiry | Ask us |
| Navarre Beach Camping Resort | year round, with snowbird pads booked 30 to 90 days | Not publishedThe park publishes a 2026 monthly rate sheet on request rather than on the page. | Not published | No, by phone or enquiry | Ask us |
Deposits are held separately by each park and several are non-refundable. Fort Morgan RV Park takes a deposit equal to the first month and applies it to the last. Emerald Beach RV Park meters electric at $0.13 per kilowatt hour and holds an electric deposit of $75 to $150 by season. None of the 10 parks publishes a maximum stay, so the length of a winter is between you and the office.
Winter is not the expensive month
The assumption is that a Gulf Coast winter is peak season and priced like it. Island Retreat publishes the opposite. Its standard back-in site is $1,100 plus tax in spring and fall, $1,145 in January to March, and $1,400 in June and July. The winter month is $45 above the cheapest month and $255 below the dearest.
That changes what to negotiate. The month is not what is scarce in January. The site is, because 6 of these parks will not let you take one online, and the two that name a window take monthly bookings only from November through March or from October 1 to April 1. Call in the autumn for a January arrival, and treat the published rate as the least surprising part of the bill.
Three of the 10 parks publish a monthly figure at all. For the other 7, site rent is quoted when you enquire. We do not publish the camper’s own rate either: it moves with the dates, so the live calendar is the only honest answer. Check your dates.
A month, three months, or the whole season
A seasonal RV rental here is usually priced by the month by the park and by the night by us. That split decides how the two bookings behave. The park quotes a month and holds your deposit against it. We quote the dates you give us, and the camper stays as long as the site does.
For a 3 month RV rental, two of these parks let you cover the whole stretch inside their published window: Gulf State Park takes monthly reservations from November through March, and Santa Rosa RV Resort does the same. A 6 month RV rental runs past both. Anchors Aweigh prices a winter month from October 1 to April 1, which is the widest published window we found, and even that is six months to the day. None of these parks publishes a maximum stay, so anything longer is a question for the office rather than a rule we can read for you.
If the stay is not seasonal, this is the wrong page. A rebuild, a work posting or a house sale is a long term rental, and the questions are different ones.

Booking a winter, in order
- Call the park before you pay anything. Ask for the monthly window, the site rent, the deposit terms and the maximum age of RV they accept.
- Hold the site. 6 of these parks will not do this online, and the site is the part that sells out in January.
- Tell us the park and the model year it will accept. Send us the dates and we will name the campers that clear it.
- Add delivery. It is $250 around Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Foley and up to $500 farther out, and we set the camper up on the site. Fees by town.
- Staying past the winter, or displaced rather than travelling? That is a different conversation. Long term rentals covers stays that are not seasonal.
How we know
Every park record on this page was read off that park’s own website on September 17, 2026 and links to the page it came from. Fleet model years, lengths and sleeping capacity come from our Wheelbase listings, measured September 16, 2026. Delivery fees come from our own fee table. Park terms change without notice and several of these parks publish nothing at all, so confirm site rent and deposits with the park before you book.
Snowbird questions
How long is a snowbird booking?
It is whatever the park will hold. Of the 10 parks near us that publish long-stay terms, 5 state the months a monthly site is available and the rest do not. Gulf State Park limits monthly reservations to November through March. Anchors Aweigh prices a winter month from October 1 to April 1.
Can I book a monthly site online?
Often not. 6 of the 10 parks state that a stay of a month or more is arranged by phone or by enquiry, even where nightly stays book online. Book the site first, then the camper, because the site is the part that can be refused.
Does the age of the camper matter for a monthly stay?
Yes, at four of these parks. They publish a maximum age for the RV on a long stay: Sugar Sands RV Resort 10 years, Pensacola RV Park 10 years, Emerald Beach RV Park 10 years, Fort Morgan RV Park 15 years. Our fleet is 16 campers under that 10-year line for the 2026 to 2027 season, and 1 on it. Tell us the park when you enquire and we will send one that clears its rule.
What does a winter month cost?
Two bills, and we only set one of them. The park charges site rent, which several publish and several do not. We charge delivery, $250 to $500 depending on the town, plus the camper itself at the rate the calendar shows for those dates.
How many people can stay?
The park decides, not the camper. Three of these parks cap a site at 6 people including visitors and children, while 9 of our campers sleep more than that. A camper that sleeps ten does not raise the cap on the site it is parked on.
Who can rent?
Renters must be 25 or older. That is the same on a winter month as on a weekend.
